I am at a loss of understanding regarding this monumental destructive fuck-up!!!!!! It has come to my attention through my discussions with my contacts at the Library of Congress that there is an issue with our Legendary DJ/Artists Hall of Fame list that I worked so very, very hard to submit and was successful in doing so. I was informed that there is someone sending emails regarding the legitimacy of the organization. At first I thought it was Yahu, but then I came to find out it is someone within our own organization, someone on our team, that to me is very disturbing.

You went behind all of our backs so that you could do what, prove what?? What did you hope to accomplish, destroy our legitimacy in a prestigious department of the government that holds dear the beginnings of every part of our industry? You must know that our organization is still legitimate and prestigious and you should be ashamed of yourself. I have just found out that you have succeeded in your efforts and we have been pulled from the Library of Congress. This does not take away from our legitimacy or authenticity so, Mr. Jackie McCloy, you have succeeded in your endeavor, and for that I will do my best to let everyone know that you, and you alone, are the reason and that you, and you alone, hold the moral responsibility as to why we CANNOT be listed in the greatest historical music archives this country has.

I have worked for the past 5 years to maintain the outstanding efforts of the organization I created to honor all of you and those who are no longer with us that deserve this recognition and why, Jackie McCloy, someone in our own organization would try to destroy it by malicious emails is beyond my comprehension. If Jackie McCloy has an issue with me, that's one thing, but to try and destroy the legacy of people like David Mancuso, Francis Grasso and Larry Levan, just hurts, period, why would you do that? If you think that you have taken away everything that we have been for fighting for years, to have people understand who we are, we are the originators, you are sadly mistaken, as we will endure. We are about a legacy for us and for those who came before us and are no longer here and that will survive into perpetuity.

If Jackie McCloy is a disgruntled Legends of Vinyl former team member, then, through the bylaws of our organization, take it up with the members. If Jackie McCloy is voted down on whatever his problem is... then that is the way the organization is run, but to go off on his own, like a 2 year old child throwing a tantrum until they get what they want, is irreprehensible. Prior to the New York event Jackie brought up 4 points to the entire Legends of Vinyl team which he felt needed to be addressed. After my consideration, and discussion with the other team members, I agreed with him on every single one of those points and agreed to abide with what he had requested. The only point that was not agreed upon was adding back certain individuals to the Hall of Fame list. The Home Page of the Legends of Vinyl website, in plain view to all visitors, clearly states our Code of Ethics. Our organization is based on this same Code of Ethics.

As a respected, and respectful, organization we expect our members to abide by our rules. Unfortunately, those that do not cannot be included. If there were other issues about the organization of which I was not aware, then why did he not bring those up as well? Jackie has never been one to mince words!! After conceding on every point, Jackie, for a reason not known to me, decided not to accept an award at the New York event. I respected his wishes. After that I never heard from him again until I received the startling news from the Library of Congress. What I fail to understand is, if he has issues with the legitimacy of the organization, why did he even bother to show up at the event or join our organization to begin with? What was the purpose of what he did...I wonder if he even knows. Jackie McCloy doesn't believe in L.O.V., its members and its bylaws - he thinks that everything he wants is the right way to go. He has tried to take away the authenticity of us and our peers, and he was trying to make us look like we are not legitimate to suit his own cause. In that respect he has failed. I did not expect this from someone like Jackie McCloy. I am beside myself thinking we have been dishonestly and underhandedly misrepresented to the Library of Congress. I will not allow what I have created and fought to legitimize be distorted due to a difference of opinion, which is why I decided there should be a protocol discussion on issues. Please understand that I appreciate all of you beyond what you can imagine, but I do not appreciate nor will I and the organization tolerate anyone who speaks ill of L.O.V. and tries his best to damage us. Lastly, Jackie McCloy, I do not understand, nor will I ever want to know why you did what you did.

Hello LOV Board members:

I read an interesting article in today's newspaper. It was about the
data breach at Equifax. The CEO was forced to step down in disgrace and the
comment about their executive board was "If you are sitting on that board, I
don't know how you could have permitted him to stay in his role." Now the
LOV is not Equifax, but the similarity between an executive board which
KNOWS about internal problems yet they WILLFULLY IGNORE them is a common factor.

I have not contacted ANYONE except those on the Board, Luis, Sue Bell
(because Luis copied her first on this issue) and the executives at the
Library Of Congress (because Luis submitted the "list" as a public document
for them to consider.) My appeal has ALWAYS been to the Board, to insist on
changes to the "list" that would correct it from being FRAUDULENT.

I've publicly stated that Luis has done some really great things, but
that does not give him the right to issue a fraudulent document to the
Library of Congress (for public display) while claiming that it is factual.
That is simply wrong, no matter what other good things Luis has
accomplished.

I am willing to try to reverse the decision of the Library of Congress,
if the list is corrected to become accurate, and if Luis agrees to the
requests presented to him prior to the NYC event without changes. This
situation is totally internal at this point (unless any of you shared it
with outsiders). The comments by Roy Be are uncalled for. This is simply a
matter of whether members of the Board will close their eyes to a FRAUDULENT 
document submitted to the Library of Congress, for whatever personal reasons they may have, 
or if Board members will demand a corrected "list". I feel sorry for anyone who sells out 
their credibility for the sake of notoriety. I for one, will not do that. Now it is time to choose whether to come
together, as there still may be an opportunity to "fix" this mess, but the
list must be "fixed" first.

To Jackie McCloy and the LOV Team:


"Mess" is the correct word here, and you, Jackie, are not to be proud of it.
You should come out like a man and say "I fucked up. I opened my mouth too
soon as I always do".

To refresh your memory, following is one of the points that you brought up
regarding the list, and my response.

Jackie: 3)
All DJ's who were previously listed on the L.O.V. list of pioneer DJ's are to be added back on the list. Since we claim that the L.O.V. list is historically accurate, no DJ's are subject to removal if they otherwise qualify based upon experience working as a professional DJ.

My answer:
I am not trying to change history. (Yahu - so why you removed my name of original list ??) That is what it is. Our members need to understand and respect who we are. Without respect we are a joke. (Yahu -how to repspect crook and swindler ??)  If I agree to do this, the DJ in question must be made aware of our protocol, our terms, and the Code of Ethics; (Yahu - yor "code" is antiethics) and they must agree to comply. They must also agree to support the organization. 

Some of them may not want to be part of the organization for whatever reason. Volunteers from the Board will be needed to approach the individuals in question, and I will review all of the requests accordingly. Without this confirmation I cannot agree.

Did I say "no" to your request? It doesn't look that way. The Code of
Ethics was adopted in November of 2014, and it is not "total BS" as was
mentioned. Case in point, the Library of Congress has their Ethics
Committee, and they make decisions based on their own code of ethics. We as
an organization have the same right!! As for some, they themselves decided
not to be on the list. These people hate LOV, so I have no reason to
include them in something that they have no respect for. (Yahu - this is not matter of shitty LOV but historic facts you do change and create false dj / disco history) Yes, they are part of history, but if you are part of LOV you abide by the rules!! (Yahu - I do not want to be part of any shitty LOV. All I want is you do not change original list Marty Angelo created as REAL AND ORIGINAL - DJ HALL OF FAME !! ) The list is not fraudulent. (Yahu -  IT IS !!) It is, and will be until the day that I no longer have life in my body, a "work in progress". I will be updating and adding accordingly. We will continue to induct deserving people, not just DJs, but Record Promoters, Record Producers, Lighting Engineers/Designers, Sound Designers, Authors/Historians, and other music industry professionals. (Yahu - check this list: http://disco-hall-of-fame.blogspot.com/   this is real and true. I do no any changes of history. Even crap as you on the list !!

I was speaking with the Library of Congress yesterday and, up until you made
your phone call or sent your email in the afternoon, they were going to give
us a link for the first time!! And then you had to destroy what I put
together!! (Yahu - you 'orelana' - you destroyed everything, because you're over ego shit crazy person) You went ahead and did what you did not want me to do!! You went ahead and did this without consulting with me or the others!! This group needs to have communication. I complied with your points, but you
still want more!! If only you had kept your mouth shut and consulted with
me and the other members of the team!! Instead, you went rogue and decided
to go to the Library of Congress to stir the pot like you always do----what
the fuck!!!! (Yahu - he is total right and this case show - my case was first but not last ...)

The other members of the LOV team are not "yes" men. They have a mind of
their own. I do not push anyone to agree with me. I kept you as a Board of
Director BECAUSE I needed to see what the "negative" Jackie McCloy had to
say. Since you decided not to accept our award, (Yahu - Jackie is DJ with honor !!) I assumed that you no longer wanted to be associated with the organization. This is the first that I have heard that you still consider yourself a member of the LOV Board of Directors. With that being said, I am making certain changes in 2018.

No more Board of Directors. It will be a "team" effort. The people coming
into this team - Pinky Velazquez, Roy Be, Ellen Bogen, Joey Carvello, Paul
Casella, Bo Crane, Jimmie Elias, Al Magliano, Dan Pucciarelli, Issy Sanchez,
Frank Sestito, and Sue Bell, are "doers" with integrity. All of these
people understand the vision of this organization. I created something out
of nothing that is welcomed by everyone. I take it seriously, and I am
passionate about it. It is a symbol of respect, integrity, legacy, and
pioneering, and all of that has been destroyed. The reality is that you
fucked up for all of us, and you are so self righteous that you are PROUD of
what you did. (Yahu - Jackie is brave DJ hero !!) You came into our New York event all smiles, and then you turn around and back stab everybody when you already knew what you were going to do. Everyone is outraged and saddened by this outcome.

You are not an authority on anything except your record pool---period. (Yahu - Jackie is more value to the disco history than you crook 'orelana' anytime / ever !!) I don't care how you manage your business. Have a good life, and stay away from other people's business. Enjoy the last of your senior years. LOV will be forever, and without you in the picture we will go far.

Please do not try to "fix" this. You have done enough damage for all of us.
Please stay away from it. We will continue doing what we have always done,
adding people, keeping the conversation going, keeping the momentum going,
without you. (Yahu - and you do harm disco pioneers and create false disco history - as you wrote on your web - " still makeing history" - yes you makeing this very wrong, selfish way - not respect what and WHO is / ARE history fact !!)

We need to respect the integrity and ethics---period. (Yahu - real ethics - YES ! but not anti-ethics of you !) We take pride in who we are. You, my friend, will go down in history, but not the way you want to. Thanks Jackie "Yahu" McCloy.

Hello Luis:

Your "Code Of Ethics" is a bogus attempt to justify elimination of those who disagree with you. That is plain and clear. I find it amusing that someone who would blatantly submit a fictitious list as true, would continue to keep harping about "Ethics". Why don't you just admit that the list was incorrect, make the corrections and let's move forward. I know you are ticked off at me, but as I mentioned to everyone, with the exception of notifying the Library of Congress about the list not being true, I've kept this between you, me and the members of the Board. Nasty comments about me aside, I remain willing to advance the cause of LOV, including trying to make it right with the Library of Congress, but NOT if the list remains tainted and NOT if you are asking me to sign some cockamamie "Code Of Ethics".

Unfortunately Jackie what you do not see or understand is the reason we have a code of ethics, it is to be sure everyone understands how serious we are about what we do, evidently you do not. I do not understand why, you would want people who “asked” to be removed, I did not remove them, they asked, should be put back on after they bad mouth me and the organization. The list is NOT fictitious; it is true to those who are sincere.

As well, you went behind our backs, which we find vehemently against our code of ethics, to do what you did. Do not underestimate. Understand, again, without letting your thick head get in the way, the “list” will always be a “work in progress” until the day I die. You jumped the gun AGAIN and did what you did because you did not get what YOU want. You screwed this up not me. Do you know, because it was mentioned at many meetings what “work in progress” means? You have deeply damaged the people who should be in the LOC by doing what you did. I cannot undo that.

Our list is NOT fraudulent, do you know the difference between work in progress and fraudulent?

BTW how cute for you to think I am ticked off, that is not the word I would use to describe how I feel about what you did.

You do not have the authority to do anything in any way, shape or form on my behalf or LOV, and you don’t even apologize to the people you have offended because of your irresponsible actions and jumping the gun.

At this point I will have to accept the damage you have done and I ask God to grant me the serenity to accept your fuck up and the courage to change the things I can…and I will!!! And the wisdom to know that Karma is a bitch.

Dear Luis (with "cc's" to the Board):

For well over a year, I have been asking that you consider making the list "true" by re-adding those you excised because you don't like them. Our conversation about this began when the Yahu incident flared up and mention was made, at that time, about others being excluded from the LOV list. I don't expect Roy Be, Bo Crane and others who came on board afterward to remember our group discussions about this during conference calls, but those who were on the Board at that time know that the issue regarding the LOV list has been a topic that did not just pop up recently, with no time for you to fix-it. I even had a lengthily discussion with you (with Paul Casella present) two months ago, about how detractors have been pointing to the "list" inaccuracies as the basis of why LOV should not be embraced. At that time, you told us that after the NYC event we could discuss it further. Then you submitted the list to the Library of Congress without living up to your own word.

You can spin this any way you like, but the root of this dilemma was caused by you. YOU chose to exclude valid pioneer DJ's from the list. YOU rebuffed all attempts to convince you that it would benefit LOV to make the list "true". YOU know that I was asked by members of the board to wait until after the NYC event, so we could work this out internally then YOU went ahead and submitted the list to the Library of Congress without correcting its obvious omissions and YOU posted the submission to the Library of Congress on facebook, even though you personally assured me that we would revisit this issue after the LOV NYC event.

All of that said, I received a call today from Issy Sanchez. He said maybe I should have called you ONE MORE TIME to let you know that I would contact the Library of Congress about the "list" if you did not make it right. I think I gave you AMPLE adequate warning that the "list" needed to be fixed, but I will accept Issy's perspective and see if there might be any way for us to patch things up. I told him that I respected his attempt to intercede and as long as those on the "list" who are recognized as valid pioneer DJ's are added back to the "list", I would personally contact the Library of Congress to let them know that the previous submission has been amended and I would request that it now be accepted as authentic.

No, I won't sign a "Code Of Ethics Statement", as you previously suggested and I think it is highly offensive for you to ask anyone of us to do so, but I am willing to seek common ground as requested by Issy. LOV has conducted some fine events and I hope those will continue, but it does not give you license to eliminate from our history, those you disagree with. That said, do you want to explore a resolution to this situation?
